SPC (Sharjah Publishing City) originally catered to media and publishing but now offers one of the cheapest UAE freezone licences available. Entry-level packages start around AED 5,750 per year, making it the go-to for the most budget-conscious setups.
The trade-off is Sharjah residency, which means a Sharjah-issued Emirates ID and a noticeable commute if your work or clients are in Dubai (45 to 90 minutes depending on traffic). For remote-only work where you rarely travel into Dubai, this is a non-issue. For client-facing consulting in Dubai, factor in the friction.
